Job Description
The Gamekeeper's Inn is a traditional Yorkshire pub with 11 bedrooms, holiday lodges and pods. Alongside our busy restaurant and bar, The Netherside Suite can host up to 150 guests, specialising in weddings and events.
Main purpose of job:
To develop your culinary skills and experience by supporting the kitchen team in providing the highest and most consistent standards of food preparation and delivery, preparing dishes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and event catering.
Reporting responsibility: Reports to the Pub Manager and Head Chefs
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within your section.
· Assisting in the development of ingredients and/or dishes.
· Preparing ingredients, meat and fish.
· Managing the stock of your section.
· Assisting with health and safety checks and standards.
· Maintaining excellent food hygiene practices.
· Responsible for the cleanliness of your section.
About The Role
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 minimum
* Be fluent in spoken and written English
* Competent understanding of food hygiene regulations
Experience
* A minimum 2 years’ experience as a chef in a fast paced, high-volume environment
Skills and Attributes
* A highly organised individual who thrives working under pressure
* Able to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively
* Must have a willingness to learn new skills and ways of working
* Must have a flexible approach to working arrangements and an ability to align working hours with customer demand and workload
