Job Title - Body In White Design Principal Engineer\n\nLocation - Cranfield\n\nPay Rate - £27.94 via PAYE (inside IR35)\n\nLength of contract - 12 months\n\nWorking patten - Minimum 3 days in the office / 2 days at home- ( this may change depending on workload)\n\nMust have experience in:\n\nBIW (Body In white)\nCatia\nGD (Grade Delay) \n\nKey Responsibilities \n\nThe person will be expected to carry out design activities related to innovative technologies / cost optimisation / break through ideas related to BEV (Battery EV) vehicles - focusing on future vehicles as well as current production.\nScope covers platform commodities: Body in white (BIW) and trim components (acoustic and aerodynamic related parts).\nStudy technical solutions (benchmark, FMEA, design parts and systems etc), build business case (cost analysis), lead validation and adoption of the new design.\nLeading/supporting communication and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders including other design sections, suppliers, manufacturing plant, test group, product planning group, project management group etc\nCollaboration with broad range of entities across Nissan organisation: Nissan Technical and Business centres in Europe as well as Nissan Japan R&D and Nissan India support centre. \n\nQualifications, Skills and Training\n\nMinimum HNC/HND or international equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline. Degree level qualification preferred.\nExperience working with metal pressings and assembly and/or trim parts is necessary (experience in both commodities is preferred but not mandatory)\nExtensive experience in automotive design, minimum Tier 1 supplier, OEM preferred.\nExperience of supplier management is necessary\nExperience working with other automotive OEMs is highly desirable\nCAD skill is highly preferable but not mandatory (preferably NX)\nDriving licence valid in the UK/EU is necessaryEnglish language skills must be sufficient to carry out the work required
