We’re supporting a well-established charity based in Surrey that is seeking an experienced Finance Director to join the organisation on a part-time basis. This role will work closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees to provide strong financial leadership, governance oversight, and strategic guidance.The organisation has a small but capable finance team and requires a senior finance professional to provide oversight, strengthen financial planning, and ensure compliance with charity sector regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced charity finance leader who enjoys working at board level while remaining hands‑on with key financial oversight.The RoleReporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Board of Trustees, you will oversee the finance function and ensure the organisation maintains strong financial governance, transparency, and long-term sustainability.You will provide strategic financial insight to support decision-making while ensuring regulatory compliance across charity reporting, VAT, and financial planning.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic financial leadership and act as the organisation’s senior finance leadOversee the day‑to‑day finance function and provide guidance to the small finance teamEnsure strong financial governance and compliance with charity regulations and reporting requirementsLead budgeting, financial forecasting, and long‑term financial planningPrepare and present clear financial reports and insight to the Board of TrusteesProvide high‑level financial business partnering to senior leadership and trusteesOversee VAT compliance and ensure correct treatment across charitable and trading activitiesReview financial controls, policies, and risk management frameworksSupport the preparation of annual accounts and manage external audit processesAdvise on financial strategy, sustainability, and operational efficiencyWhat We’re Looking ForFully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)Proven experience at Finance Director or Head of Finance levelStrong background within the charity or not-for-profit sectorExperience working closely with Boards of Trustees and senior leadership teamsStrong understanding of charity governance, VAT treatment, and regulatory complianceAbility to operate both strategically and hands‑on where requiredClear communicator with the ability to present financial information to non‑finance stakeholdersIdeally available within short noticeWhy Join?This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key leadership role within a purpose‑driven organisation.
