Description We’ve got a brilliant opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team as a Financial Crime Investigator. In this role, you will undertake Financial Crime Investigations and the subsequent required actions through having specialist knowledge and expertise in anti-money laundering, Client Screening, terrorist financing and tax evasion. Responsibilities What you’ll be doing In this role, you’ll spend your day reviewing customer information, assessing risk and making decisions that help protect the bank. You’ll look into alerts, gather details, and record your findings clearly so they can be relied on by others. The work is detailed and fast ‑ paced, and you’ll often move between different cases depending on urgency. You’ll also help improve our financial crime controls by sharing any trends or issues you spot. You’ll carry out enhanced due diligence and KYC (Know your Customer) checks on higher ‑ risk customers, making sure all decisions are accurate and well ‑ reasoned. You’ll investigate sanctions, PEP (Politically Exposed Person) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) alerts, escalate any true matches and explain the potential impact. You’ll review adverse media findings, analyse financial activity and assess the likelihood of financial crime. You’ll work closely with financial crime teams to give advice, document guidance and help strengthen controls. You’ll also handle high ‑ risk jurisdiction reviews, respond to legal requests and, when needed, represent the bank in court. About you For this role, you will need: Experience of working within a financial crime environment Experience with Customer Risk Assessments, Client Screening, Payment Filtering, Transaction Monitoring or an AML role A keen eye for detail and be able to present your findings/thoughts on investigations in a clear and concise manner The ability to analyse detailed information and be able to draw sophisticated conclusions and/or recommendations from the facts/data provided The ability to work autonomously with excellent time management skills Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Microsoft Office and Excel knowledge Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together.
