The Queen’s Hotel is recruiting for a part time (24 hours over 3 days) Maintenance Team Member. Join our team and play a vital role in keeping our hotel running smoothly, safely, and efficiently!
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and maintain all hotel facilities, including boilers, air conditioning, heating, and plant systems.
* Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency breakdowns, especially those affecting guest rooms and services.
* Carry out short-term repairs, general upkeep, and painting/decorating tasks as needed.
* Liaise effectively with housekeeping, kitchen staff, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
* In the absence of the Maintenance Manager, coordinate with external service engineers and support troubleshooting.
* Check and maintain stock levels for maintenance supplies, placing orders when necessary.
* Conduct weekly fire alarm system tests and maintain accurate records in the Fire Manual.
* Strictly adhere to Health & Safety and Fire Safety procedures at all times.
* Use all tools and equipment safely and hygienically, in compliance with statutory regulations.
* Stay informed on current electrical regulations and ensure site compliance.
* Attend required training sessions to keep your skills sharp and current.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in building maintenance, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
* Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems.
* Ability to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including alternate weekends or bank holidays when required.
* Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
