Role Overview:
The purpose of this role is to work with the Head of Partnerships & Sponsorship as well as key stakeholders, internally and externally, to maximize JD’s Sports sponsorship agreements. This includes ownership of activation calendars and executing plans around key activities across multi-channel, marketing, and partner channels, as well as assisting in prospecting new partnerships.
The role involves liaising with the JD studio, partners, content providers, and the full marketing team to maximize activity across JD and sponsor platforms, ensuring all marketing rights around the agreements are utilized across all platforms.
Produce accurate reports of all sponsorship activity and circulate relevant updates to ensure all stakeholders within the marketing teams are aware of the activity to achieve maximum reach and impact.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
* Ownership of the planned calendar of activity to maximize all Sports Sponsorships, with a focus on football and UFC.
* Continuously develop and refine partnership activation strategies through regular review of partnership impacts.
* Maintain regular liaison with partners to identify key stories and opportunities to create activity that will raise the profile of partnerships.
* Ensure relevant content is produced for JD platforms, social media, and sponsor platforms, with product relevance where possible.
* Collaborate across internal departments and stakeholders for partner approvals and alignment of programmes and initiatives.
* Work with JD marketing teams, including activations, social, retail marketing, and influencer/talent teams, to develop activity and integrated strategies that promote sports and football activities in JD with sponsors.
* Identify opportunities for in-store events and activations focusing on local community engagement.
* Coordinate with buying and merchandising teams to ensure relevant products are seeded to sponsored assets where relevant.
* Assist in activating photoshoots and campaign imagery for sponsored assets alongside the creative team.
* Work with the multi-channel team to ensure awareness of JD and sports activities is communicated through key channels and identify opportunities for sponsored assets to support other campaigns.
* Implement strategies and campaign ideas to enhance association and sales potential through partnerships.
* Liaise with buying and merchandising to support sales plans for Football Retail Partnerships.
* Collaborate with SEO, Outreach teams, and PR agencies to execute press coverage and access to sponsored assets.
* Report on all sponsorship activities and competitions, highlighting benefits, coverage, and commercial results where relevant.
* Monitor competitors and inspiration sources to inform the wider team.
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:
* Full and Clean Driving License
* Excellent knowledge of boxing and football is essential.
* Experience in planning and activating Sports Marketing agreements;
* Knowledge of other sports is advantageous.
* Strong presentation skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a growing team.
* Willingness to learn new skills.
* Availability to work out of hours and travel as necessary.
* Experience in Sports Marketing or agencies is preferred but not essential.
