About This Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Graduate to support the strategic and operational HR function of New Hall School. This role offers the opportunity to gain comprehensive, hands‑on experience across payroll, HR administration, recruitment and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contract changes, absences, off‑boarding and performance‑management support.
* Maintain accurate HR records, including data held on the School’s Single Central Register and HRIS system, and provide first‑line HR guidance, respond to staff queries and act as a trusted point of contact while maintaining confidentiality.
* Support the full recruitment cycle, including creating job packs, posting job adverts, arranging interviews, collating feedback and administering candidate assessments.
* Collaborate effectively within the HR team, fostering positive relationships and supporting broader operational priorities and ad‑hoc projects.
* Assist with the administration of monthly payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Ensure recruitment processes comply with legal requirements and reflect the School’s values and safeguarding priorities.
The Successful Candidate Will Be Expected
* Support and contribute to the Catholic ethos of the school in accordance with its mission and ethos statement.
* Promote the values and strategic aims of the school.
* Hold a degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Psychology or a related discipline.
* Have a good understanding of HR principles, employment law and HR practices.
* Demonstrate excellent spoken and written English and strong IT proficiency.
* Show high standards of personal and professional integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
* Use initiative to identify issues and suggest practical improvements.
* Have knowledge of the education sector or independent schools.
* Understand the importance of promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children.
* Hold a CIPD qualification (Level 3 or 5) or equivalent professional experience.
