Vulnerable children in the UK need your help
Wherever you work in the Action for Children family, you'll be helping to change the lives of the most vulnerable children in the UK.
Last year, we helped more than 670,000 children and families across the UK. From direct work in communities to national campaigning, we are focused on making sure every child has a safe and happy childhood, and the foundations they need to thrive.
Why Action for Children?
Working here is more than a job. Everyone in the Action for Children family is passionate about protecting and supporting children. It's the sense of purpose that drives us every single day. Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable children's lives.
A bit about the role
Are you passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and take their first steps toward employment or further education? This is a great opportunity to make a real difference as an Employment Facilitator, supporting young people to unlock their potential.
At Action for Children, our Employability Service is all about supporting 16–24 year olds who face challenges in making positive choices for their future.
In this role, you'll be at the heart of delivering personalised employability programmes and one-to-one support. Working closely with a passionate team, you'll help young people build confidence, develop essential skills, and move towards meaningful opportunities—whether that's a job, training, or further study. You'll also be there to offer aftercare, making sure they stay on track and feel supported every step of the way.
You'll provide warm, high-quality support to young people preparing to enter the labour market, helping them explore what's out there and feel ready to take the leap. By working alongside our partners and regularly reviewing each person's needs, you'll help create inspiring, outcome-focused action plans that lead to real progress.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
Some key responsibilities of an Employment Facilitator role are;
* Applying Action for Children's and professional practice standards and ensuring their implementation as necessary and being proactive in their implementation.
* Managing and co-ordinating a caseload of young people, providing a range of targeted interventions to assist their entry to the labour market through group, coordinated or individual support.
* Delivering of a range of group work modules that contribute to our overall employability programmes, promoting inclusion and allowing for individual learning styles.
* Ensuring that all compliance is up to date and accurate to meet the needs of the stakeholders and the organisation.
Let's talk about you
We are open to a variety of backgrounds. This could be your own first role after gaining a recent qualification. Or you could be looking to build on the experience you already have in youth work or employability. Either way, this is a great opportunity enhance life chances in local Glasgow communities.
* It would be great if you have an SVQ 3 in Social Care, Guidance or equivalent – but we are very open to relevant experience, rather than a qualification.
* You'll be used to working in group settings with young people facing multiple barriers.
* You'll have knowledge and understanding of young people facing unemployment.
