About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled General Building Operator to join our client based at HMP Leeds. This is a hands-on role that involves maintaining the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of our buildings and grounds. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our premises are well-maintained and operational for staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out general building maintenance and repairs ( plumbing, carpentry, painting)
2. Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment
3. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
4. Support contractors and external service providers on site
5. Ensurepliance with health and safety regulations
6. Assist with setting up rooms and spaces for meetings or events
7. Monitor and report any building issues or hazards
Requirements:
8. Proven experience in a similar role or trade
9. Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC)
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
11. Goodmunication and problem-solving skills
12. Physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
13. Willingness to work flexible hours if required
