Key Responsibilities
Financial Appraisal & Product Investment:
Lead the financial evaluation of new product proposals, including cost analysis, target pricing, margin modelling, break-even analysis and return on investment assessment.
Provide clear recommendations to support go/no-go decisions and ensure launches meet profitability thresholds.
Margin & Performance Analysis
Monitor and analyse revenue, gross margin and contribution across the product portfolio.
Identify variances against forecast and budget, investigate root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Support ongoing margin improvement initiatives through cost challenge and pricing analysis.
Pricing & Commercial Governance
Maintain and manage customer price files, ensuring accuracy and control around pricing updates and promotions.
Assess the financial impact of pricing adjustments and promotional activity on profitability.
Support the development of structured pricing strategies aligned to commercial objectives.
Inventory & Working Capital Analysis
Review stock performance in relation to sales velocity and margin contribution.
Identify slow-moving and obsolete inventory risks, quantify financial exposure and work cross-functionally to mitigate impact.
Business Partnering
Act as a trusted finance partner to commercial and operational teams.
Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes through detailed product-level financial analysis.
Process & Systems Improvement
Contribute to the enhancement of reporting, forecasting and analytical tools.
Develop improved dashboards and financial models (Power BI / Excel) to strengthen insight and decision-making.
Candidate Profile
Part-qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or equivalent relevant experience.
Strong commercial finance, pricing or product-based financial analysis experience (manufacturing, distribution or product-led environments preferred).
Excellent financial modelling and advanced Excel capability; experience with Power BI or similar tools advantageous.
Strong understanding of margin analysis, cost structures, pricing strategy and return on investment.
Confident communicator with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.
Detail-oriented, commercially curious and comfortable challenging assumptions to drive better outcomes.
