Location: Leeds

Make a real impact through the power of events.

Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All is one of the UK’s leading not-for-profit sporting event organisers. Inspired by the late Jane Tomlinson CBE, our events raise millions for good causes and bring communities together across the country.

We’re now looking for a dedicated Press Officer to lead media engagement and deliver compelling communications that celebrate our participants, amplify our charitable impact, and drive awareness and participation across our event portfolio.

About the Role:
As a Press Officer, you’ll be at the heart of our communications activity – shaping stories that promote our events, engage local communities and enhance public awareness. From managing media relationships to coordinating advertising and on the ground marketing, this is a dynamic hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose driven environment.

You’ll also be an active member of our on-the-ground team, working at a variety of events on weekends throughout the season to help deliver unforgettable race day experiences and ensure our brand is represented at its best.

Key Responsibilities:
•Lead on press and media outreach, including drafting, pitching, and distributing press releases and media materials for Run For All and the Jane Tomlinson Appeal.
•Lead and manage relationships with media partners
•Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national media, across consumer and trade titles
•Champion and communicate the brand story – ensuring all media activity communicates our mission, values and tone of voice.
•Source, develop and pitch case studies and human-interest stories that celebrate our runners, partners and charity initiatives.
•Work closely with our Content Executive to bring these stories to live across digital channels, ensuring alignment between media and content output.
•Coordinate advertising and promotional activity across print, radio, and outdoor platforms
•Provide on-site press and marketing support at events, ensuring consistent brand representation and assisting with race-day logistics
•Assist in the planning and delivery of community and promotional events
•Conduct market research and gather feedback to inform future campaign development
•Maintain and update media databases, contact lists, and press monitoring systems
•Provide general administrative and team support as required

About You:
We're looking for someone who is a natural storyteller. Who knows know to find and share the human stories that inspire action as well as increasing awareness of our portfolio of events and brand announcements. You’ll have strong media instincts, excellent writing skills and a passion for sport, community and purpose-led communication.

• A confident and strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
• A keen interest in marketing and events
• A creative storyteller who understands what makes a great media angle
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Confidence working with external partners, journalists and suppliers
• A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in events
• A full UK driving licence (desirable, but not essential)
• Willing to work the event weekends across the season – March to December.

Experience in PR, marketing, events, or the charity sector is beneficial, but not essential. We’re committed to supporting the right candidate with training and opportunities to grow in the role.

Why Join Us?
•Be part of a passionate and purpose-led organisation
•Work on a variety of exciting events across the country
•Support charitable giving and community engagement
•Enjoy flexible working and professional development opportunities
•Make a real difference while developing your marketing skills
