Axcis Education is seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSAs) to work at a very friendly school in Wednesbury (WS10). The school are specifically looking for an outgoing and caring individual who has previous experience with severe ASD supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in smaller groups with their day to day lessons.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
* Work 1:1 or in small groups with students who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including ASD, Makaton, PECS
* Assist the class teacher in adapting learning materials to meet individual student needs
* Provide emotional and behavioural support to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Encourage social interaction and engagement in classroom activities
* Promote positive behaviour and encourage students to participate in classroom activities
* Support teachers in managing the classroom and helping with lesson preparation.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experienced in severe ASD is essential
* A proactive approach to supporting pupils, with the ability to adapt to their individual needs
* A passion for working with children and young people with additional needs: Makaton, PECS
* A willingness to adapt and work flexibly in different school environments
