Responsibilities
* Respond to day-to-day electrical and mechanical maintenance issues and machinery breakdowns
* Diagnose, fault-find, and repair production machinery, robotics, automated systems, and plant equipment
* Carry out preventative maintenance with a focus on electrical systems, control panels, drives, and motors
* Support PLCs, sensors, and other control systems to maintain production uptime
* Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment efficiency and reliability
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and electrical documentation
* Liaise with external contractors and suppliers for specialist electrical support
* Manage electrical spare parts, consumables, and stock levels
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve system reliability
* Ensure statutory inspections, testing, and electrical compliance requirements are met
* Assist with planning maintenance coverage across machinery, automation systems, and ancillary equipment
Qualifications & Experience
* Time-served engineer with hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment
* Strong electrical background with proven fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
* Experience with PLCs, control panels, motors, drives, or robotics highly desirable
* Mechanical experience advantageous but not essential
* Electrical or Mechanical engineering qualification preferred
* Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe systems of work
* Organised, proactive, and able to work under pressure
* Confident communicator able to engage at all levels of the business
