HGV Driver Application Deadline: 4 July 2025 Department: Transport Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Northfleet Compensation: GBP 41,241 / year Description We are seeking to recruit a HGV Driver at our site in Northfleet. In this role you will be responsible for collecting wastes, including hazardous waste streams, to and from customers premises, to include - Batteries, Oil, Filters, plastics & other waste products for recycling. Key Responsibilities Safe collection and delivery of all waste materials. Using all equipment in a safe manner and according to the company procedures, to carry out safety checks prior to and after use, reporting any faults/safety issues in timely manner and in accordance with the company procedures. Ensure waste is loaded correctly and safely and all spillages are cleared up immediately and reported. Adhere to ADR Regulations regarding the carriage of dangerous goods. Comply with Company policies whilst operating a company vehicle and with all legal and Tachograph requirements. Adhere to all Company safety rules and current legislation. Complete vehicle checks and report all incidents including damage prior to leaving site. Complete all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Responsible for daily cleanliness of allocated vehicle maintaining company standards. Be a positive representative for the company at all times. Identify and communicate any additional customer requirements to the line manager. Be the key point of contact for the customer when attending their site. Report any near misses, security and/or safety issues, at customer and Enva sites. To adhere to customer security, health and safety, and site rule requirements whilst operating at their sites. Any additional duties as required. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required Experience and knowledge of EU & WTD Tachograph Regulations. Good geographical knowledge of mainland UK. A good understanding of Operator Licence obligations and regulations. Good understanding of Highway Code and "Hierarchy of Road Users". Valid Driver's license with 3 points or less. Customer focused with experience of managing customer expectations appropriately. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively and to plan and manage own agenda. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle complaints effectively, maintaining a solution focussed approach. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective and positive working relationships within and outside of the department. Positive and motivated with a flexible and adaptable attitude. Good conflict resolution skills based on a 'can do' attitude. Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and adopt a professional approach in all interactions - should be transparent, open, and honest in all dealings. Must have a proactive and safety focused approach. Desirable Experience working within waste industry most desirable, however, alternate industries with relevant experience will be considered. ADR.
