Monarch Education are supporting a secondary school in Perry Barr with the appointment of a full-time Humanities Teacher to start in September. This is a long-term role, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The school are looking for a qualified Humanities Teacher who can deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across KS3 and KS4. The role would suit someone with a specialism in History, Geography or Religious Education, who is confident supporting students with subject knowledge, written responses and exam skills. QTS is required for this role. You will be working with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop a deeper understanding of people, places, cultures, beliefs and key events. The school are looking for someone who can encourage curiosity, discussion and independent thinking in the classroom. This position would suit a Humanities Teacher who is organised, confident with behaviour management and able to create a positive learning environment where students are supported to make progress. What you'll be responsible for: Teaching Humanities across KS3 and KS4 Delivering lessons in History, Geography and/or RE Planning clear, engaging and accessible lessons Supporting students with written work, knowledge recall and exam preparation Encouraging debate, critical thinking and curiosity Assessing student progress and identifying gaps in learning Managing classroom behaviour in line with school expectations Working with the Humanities department to support curriculum delivery The school are looking for: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - required Experience teaching Humanities in a secondary school setting Strong subject knowledge in History, Geography or RE Confidence teaching across KS3 and KS4 Good classroom management skills Strong communication and organisation skills A reliable, professional and proactive approach Ability to make Humanities lessons engaging and relevant Commitment to supporting student progress and wellbeing ECTs are welcome to apply, alongside experienced Humanities Teachers.
