Pastoral Teaching Assistant SEMH School (Blackburn) We are seeking a confident and resilient Pastoral Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Blackburn. This is a full-time, long-term position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm. About the Role: Provide pastoral and emotional support to pupils with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Build strong, trusting relationships to promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning. Support teaching staff in creating a safe, structured, and inclusive environment. Manage challenging behaviour effectively using de-escalation and restorative approaches. Monitor pupil progress and contribute to behaviour and wellbeing plans. About You: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour is essential. Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills. A calm, patient, and nurturing approach. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people to achieve their potential.
