Bar Manager – The Moth Tavern Coming this Summer to the Cathedral Quarter, The Moth Tavern will be an intimate pub with a focus on alternative music, craft beer and cocktails. Opening 7 nights a week with regular DJ's, an open fire and rooftop garden, the Moth Tavern will be an exciting addition to Skipper Street. We also love a tequila. We are looking for an experienced Bar Manager to help bring this venue to life and lead a team of knowledgeable, friendly staff. The Moth Tavern and the National Yard are both currently being constructed and will be close friends, but will open separately. We are also pleased to announce that Little Wing Sliced will be returning to the National Yard with extended opening hours and menu. What you’ll do: Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring a smooth, efficient and friendly service. Lead and motivate a team of cocktail bartenders and floor staff, fostering a positive, professional working environment. Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to ensure availability of drinks and bar essentials. Monitor and control bar costs, including labour costs and stock wastage. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations, and maintain cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas. Actively engage in the recruitment process – including shortlisting, conducting interviews and forecasting staff costs. Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally Drive sales and implement strategies to increase revenue About you: Proven management experience in a similar role and venue (at least 1-2 years) A hands-on approach with a passion for creating exceptional customer experiences. Knowledge of managing stock and spillage costs Experience managing labour budgets Proven track record of people management including recruitment, appraisals, training and rotas Ability to further improve and build on standards through staff training and coaching.
