Team Manager – Qualified Social Worker

Are you an experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker ready to lead a team that truly makes a difference? We’re looking for a dedicated Team Manager to lead a Family Support Team in North Wales – someone who can drive positive outcomes for children and families while fostering a strong, supportive team culture.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead from the front, influence strategic decision-making, and support a high-performing team delivering critical services across Child Protection, Children in Need, and Court Work.
About the Role
As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of Social Workers delivering high-quality statutory services. You’ll guide them in their work with children and families under the Children Act 1989 and other key legislation, including those:
* In need of protection
* Looked after by the local authority
* Requiring early support and robust intervention
You will also:
* Lead on complex case decision-making and planning
* Ensure timely assessments and interventions are delivered to high standards
* Monitor performance and compliance in line with service targets and expectations
* Support professional development through regular supervision, reflective practice, and coaching
* Champion a culture of child-centred practice, resilience, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
To be successful, you’ll need to bring:
* A recognised Social Work qualification
* Registration with Social Work England (or Social Care Wales)
* At least 2 years' post-qualified experience, ideally including team leadership or senior practitioner roles
* A strong background in Children in Need, Child Protection, and Court Work
* Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance
* Strong decision-making and risk assessment skills
* Excellent communication and people management abilities
* A creative, flexible and forward-thinking approach to family support
