Location: Hybrid (home‑based with occasional office attendance, Leatherhead, Surrey, UK)
Hours: Full‑time, 37.5 hrs per week

NEC Telecom MODUS Ltd. (NECTML) is part of the NEC group of companies; this unique partnership is wholly dedicated to undertake research and development relating to key elements of long term evolutions (LTE) mobile communication systems for the NEC Corporation Group.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an Executive / Principal Compliance Manager to join our Senior Management Team. This is a pivotal role overseeing all compliance activities across the company, ensuring we meet NEC internal standards and UK regulatory requirements.
You'll advise senior colleagues, motivate teams to follow best practice, and manage relationships with external advisors. This is a broad, influential role with visibility across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead compliance activities across Health & Safety, Information Security, Quality Management, Export Controls, Risk, Legal/Personal Data Protection, and Business Continuity.
Advise the Senior Management Team on compliance issues and best practice.
Ensure monitoring, auditing, and record‑keeping of compliance activities.
Work with the Office Manager on Health & Safety and training programmes.
Manage external advisors and oversee compliance budgets.
About You
Experience in compliance management, ideally across areas such as anti‑bribery, data protection, export controls, and ISO9001 quality systems.
Strong communication and people skills to influence and motivate colleagues.
Excellent literacy and numeracy, with the ability to draft clear policies and analyse budgets.
Previous experience working within a similar industry (technology, telecoms, or R&D) is desirable.
Knowledge of risk management, business continuity, and general business legal matters is desirable.
