The Education, Workforce and Development Team are pleased to offer a rare opportunity for a motivated individual to join our dynamic and innovative apprenticeship team.

This busy and varied role involves supporting the planning, monitoring, and evaluation of a wide range of apprenticeship programmes across the Trust. As part of the apprenticeship pathway, you will also be responsible for line-managing apprentices where appropriate, ensuring they receive the guidance and support needed to thrive.

You will play a key role in the journey of our non‑clinical apprentices, supporting them from their initial expression of interest through to successful completion of their programme. In addition, you may support other apprentices across the Trust, giving you the chance to broaden your experience and make a wider impact.

Main duties of the job

• The main duty of this role is to support the apprenticeship manager with the planning, arranging, monitoring, and evaluating the wide variety of
apprenticeship programmes across the Trust.
• Building a strong relationship with apprentices and their managers to monitor progress and compliance in line with their apprenticeship learning agreement.
• Line manages apprentices where relevant
• To work as part of the Education and Workforce Development team, providing a resource to champion Apprenticeships.
• To attend career and recruitment events as required to promote healthcare careers.
• To be a link and point of contact between the Trust and external agencies and providers.
• To link with other apprenticeship facilitators, Apprenticeship Ambassadors, other relevant people and organisations and to participate in these groups.

Essential criteria

* Ability to manage own diary.
* Use initiative, plan, organise and make decisions with limited supervision.
* Able to use variety of communication methods, written ,verbal, data, presentation etc.
* Ability to influence and persuade, adapting personal style to meet different situations.
* IT skills.
* Able to engage with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
* Able to manage several work streams and task simultaneously
* Able to prioritise and manage own workload.


Desirable criteria

* Produce adverts, resources, documents for communication and promotion.
* Confident in presenting and delivering to groups.


Knowledge


Essential criteria

* Knowledge of NHSE Quality Framework.
* Knowledge of Apprenticeship Levy and upcoming developments
* Knowledge of Apprenticeship programmes of learning and assessment processes.
* Understanding of Performance Development Review processes and assessment of individuals knowledge and skills.


Desirable criteria

* Awareness of Greater Manchester Devolution
* Awareness of NHS Five Year Forward View.


Experience


Essential criteria

* Current working knowledge of the NHS and experience in working in a clinical environment.
* Proven working experience using spread sheets and electronic systems for information collection, analysis and the production of reports – with attention to detail
* Proven record of providing a high standard of customer care.
* Demonstrate organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise own workload.
* Demonstrate effective and timely responding to queries and providing guidance and advice.
* Demonstrable experience of providing 1:1 or group support.
* Building Productive working relationships with external agencies and partner organisations
* Demonstrate experience of audit and evaluation processes.
* Demonstrable experience of working both independently and effectively within a team environment


Desirable criteria

* Producing action plans to address issues
* Delivering training
* Project management skills, and ability to see a project through to conclusion


Qualifications


Essential criteria

* Maths and English at GCSE grade A-C/4-9 or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent
* Relevant Foundation Degree or Diploma level qualification
* Experience to graduate level


Desirable criteria

* Project management qualification.
* Supervisor/Assessor coaching experience
* Hold a recognised teaching qualification
* NMC or HCPC registration
