Three permanent posts available.

Location: You will be based within Greenburn or Lanark but will be required to provide cover at West Mains, Sanderson, Rutherglen HS, and Victoria Park.
Hours: 27.5 and/or 28.5 hours per week, term time, 39 weeks per year.
Hourly Rate: £13.80 - £14.83 per hour.

To meet the needs of pupils who require support beyond that provided by their Class Teacher or Early Years Key Worker, we offer a flexible role that enables School Support Assistants to work collaboratively as a team and respond to the changing needs of pupils and schools. The role is dynamic and varied, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach.

These posts are predominantly term‑time, offering an excellent work/life balance. As peripatetic posts, you will be based in one establishment and will be required to provide support across any of the schools listed above, as need demands.These are both primary and secondary establishments.

Supporting Pupils within Additional Support Needs

Provide in‑class and out‑of‑class support for pupils with complex needs, including medical needs and personal care as outlined in Health Care Plans.

1. Administer medication and offer physical and emotional support for vulnerable pupils, including those who are non‑verbal or have needs related to ASD, attachment, or communication.
2. Undertake relevant training (e.g., moving and assisting) as required.
3. Provide nurturing and calm support within the school environment.
4. Contribute to supervision in shared areas during intervals and lunchtimes, promoting independence and the school’s values.
