Sellick Partnership is pleased to be supporting a leading UK construction and engineering company in their search for a Legal Counsel (1–4 PQE) to join their in-house team on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a small, collaborative legal function and to help shape the way legal services are delivered across the wider group. The successful candidate will support on a variety of high-value projects across industrial, multi-room, civils and infrastructure sectors, working directly with project teams and senior stakeholders.
The role would suit a qualified solicitor with a strong grounding in commercial contracts and an interest in construction law, whether gained in private practice or already in-house.
As Legal Counsel, your role will include, but is not limited to:
* Reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
* Drafting template documents, policies, and guidance materials
* Advising and assisting project teams across the business
* Supporting the business in managing risks and avoiding disputes
* Managing claims (including insurance claims) and liaising with external counsel as required
* Delivering legal training to commercial, design, and operational teams
* Helping to devise and implement processes to support projects and mitigate risks
The successful candidate will:
* Be a qualified solicitor (1–4 PQE) with experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
* Ideally have some experience in construction law (though this is not essential)
* Be pragmatic, approachable, and commercially minded, with excellent communication skills
* Enjoy working as part of a team and building relationships across the business
