We are working with a well-established, family-owned regional civil engineering contractor based in the East Midlands, who are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to support their continued growth.

The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple civil engineering projects, typically including Section 278 works, roads, highways, and groundworks schemes.
You will oversee projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing multiple live projects across the East Midlands
* Overseeing Site Managers, Engineers, and project teams
* Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
* Monitoring programme performance and driving progress on site
* Commercial awareness, working closely with QS teams to manage cost and value
* Building and maintaining client relationships, particularly with local authorities and developers
* Supporting pre-construction activities including planning and methodology input
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager within civil engineering
* Strong background in highways, roads, Section 278 works, and groundworks
* Ability to manage multiple schemes concurrently
* Good commercial understanding and contractual awareness
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* SMSTS, CSCS and relevant industry qualifications
