Job Description
KEY OBJECTIVES
Jobholders will be responsible for providing operational support to any Council Directorate or Service. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Organizing training and development, including accreditation, re-accreditation, and staff registration with statutory bodies;
* Processing applications for services such as Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA), Care at Home, Midcare alarms, etc.;
* Pupil placement;
* Financial assessment for Adult & Social Care services;
* Carer payments such as Foster/Kinship/Adoption;
* Corporate Appointeeship;
This list is not exhaustive.
For these functions, the Jobholder will be responsible for:
* Establishing and maintaining appropriate administrative and financial procedures;
* Completing and recording subsidy claims related to income for the Council;
* Processing BACS payments to customers and service providers, and reconciling Council accounts;
* Issuing correspondence to customers regarding their service requests;
* Assisting the Business Officer with pupil placement requests and related appeals;
* Recommending improvements to practices and procedures;
* Ensuring procedures are documented, fit for purpose, and accessible to the team;
* Raising Sundry Debt invoices for critical Council income.
Any other duties as identified by the Integrated Service Support Management Team.
Education:
Essential: Minimum of two SCE Higher Grades or equivalent, and evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy, such as at least three Standard Grade passes including English and Mathematics.
Experience:
Essential: Experience working in a Local Government environment, with understanding of computer-based financial management and reporting systems used by Council services. Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages is also required.
Desirable: Experience involving supervision and training of staff.

Note: Successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale. The minimum salary for this position is £28,440.19 per annum based on 36 hours/week over 52 weeks.
