Our client, a well-established public sector company based in the heart of Sheffield, is seeking a talented Management Accountant to join their finance team on a Fixed Term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an organisation with a strong social purpose, supporting essential services delivered across the city. You'll be joining a collaborative, values-driven environment where your work directly supports improved outcomes for tenants, communities, and frontline RoleAs Management Accountant, you will play a key role in providing high‑quality financial insight, enabling effective decision‑making across the organisation. Responsibilities include:
1. Preparing monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and insightful reporting for budget holders
2. Supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting processes
3. Providing financial guidance to operational teams, helping them understand performance and cost drivers
4. Preparing reconciliations, journals, and supporting audit requirements
5. Producing accurate, timely information to support strategic projects and service planning
6. Contributing to continuous improvements within the finance function
About YouWe're looking for someone who brings:
7. Part‑qualified or fully qualified status (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or equivalent experience
8. Strong management accounting and business partnering skills
9. Experience within public sector, housing, ALMO, or similar regulated environments (advantageous but not essential)
10. Confident Excel and financial systems capability
11. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and explain financial information clearly
12. A proactive mindset with a commitment to service excellence and public value

14. Hybrid working - typically 2-3 days per week in the Sheffield City Centre office
