Job Objectives And Responsibilities
To carry out all planned maintenance, small fabric installations, reactive works, and support the engineering team at our Telford site (commercial building).
To proactively manage site compliance & logbooks.
The job holder will coordinate, control, and supervise specialist sub-contractors where necessary, working in conjunction with other trades.
To ensure that all planned preventative maintenance and reactive works are completed efficiently and in accordance with contract requirements.
Reporting directly to the engineering team lead, you will ensure that maintenance staff and sub-contractors work efficiently within Health & Safety guidelines, including validation and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements for sub-contracts.
To demonstrate ownership of the sites managed and drive performance.
Ensure all hazards and risks are raised, investigated, and reported.
Main duties
* Assist the Engineering Lead in organizing, managing, and coordinating on-site services to maintain high standards
* Carry out surveys and inspections
* Perform minor fabric repairs as required
* Assist in logistical moves
* Carry out lift entrapment releases when needed
* Write simple reports
* Participate in the on-call rota
* Complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time
* Learn, understand, and comply with MITIE policies and procedures
* Work safely, using risk assessments where required
* Follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures
* Attend training and appraisal activities
* Undertake additional duties as capability allows
* Support compliance with Health and Safety and assist in team training
* Assist with monitoring and supervising, including apprentices, and processing college reports
* Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical services, including fault diagnostics and repairs
* Adhere to MITIE Quality System documentation
* Complete all documentation accurately and on time
* Follow policies and procedures
Qualifications
* Recognized trade training and experience in a similar role preferred
* Ability to undertake maintenance and installation tasks within contract scope
* Skills in commercial plumbing maintenance and reactive repairs, or willingness to learn
* Experience in general building fabric work preferred
* Legionella Control (L8) training or willingness to undertake
* Ability to perform small building fabric repairs and maintenance
* Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
* Physical ability to work at heights and overtime as needed
* Flexible attitude
* Knowledge of SSOW and permit issuing
* Customer service experience, face-to-face, email, and phone
* Competent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
* Ability to pass a CRC criminal record check
