The Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering department is looking for an engineer with strong practical and analytical skills. Working predominantly across healthcare projects, you will use your engineering skills at all stages of the development life-cycle. You will take responsibility for design challenges and technical problems, participating in concept generation, research, design and testing. This role is for candidates who are due to graduate this summer and available to start between June October 2025.What youdoingYou will work within a team of highly talented, multi-disciplinary engineers on major development projects, applying your practical and analytical abilities to realise novel medical technologies for our clients around the globe. You will participate in projects covering all stages of the development life-cycle, applying novel technologies in the field of medical device development. You will have the opportunity to create exciting cutting-edge technology in areas such as diagnostics, drug delivery, surgical and acute care, synthetic biology and digital health.You will be using your strong technical and interpersonal skills to make a significant contribution to development projects, from initial concepts through to final delivery. This will include:Concept generationAnalysis and development of engineering designsRapid PrototypingDesign and implementation of test rigsDesign and execution of experimental test programmesPresenting results, both internally and to clientsPreparing technical reports and producing high-quality documentationWhat you can bringWe feel the below is essential to be successful with your application:An excellent academic recordStudying for, or completed, a relevant Engineering degreeA solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and physical principlesA genuine passion for solving problems through engineeringA creative approach to problem solving and concept generationStrong technical skillsWe feel the below is advantageous though by no means a necessity:Experience with Engineering tools such as LabView, Matlab and Simulink and 3D CAD tools, preferably CREO and \/ or SolidWorksAn appreciation of the use of engineering analysis tools in product development e.g. CFD and FEASome relevant industrial experienceGood practical skillsInterest in biomedical engineering
