Birmingham City Women's FC has a clear vision to compete at the highest level and provide elite performance support to our players. Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Physiotherapist to join our medical team and deliver world-class care to our squad.
The Role
The Physiotherapist will play a key role in the day-to-day management of player health and wellbeing, with responsibility for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and pitch-side emergency care. Working collaboratively with the Club's medical, sports science, and coaching staff, you will provide elite-level clinical support that enhances player performance and reduces injury risk.
This is a hands-on role requiring professionalism, discretion, and the ability to operate effectively in a high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for all players.
* Deliver pitch-side first aid and emergency care at training sessions and matches.
* Collaborate with sports science, nutrition, psychology, and coaching staff to deliver an integrated medical service.
* Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely electronic medical records.
* Support mental health awareness and contribute to the team's Mental Health Pathway.
* Educate and support academy therapists and students when required.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and clinical governance standards.
* Maintain continuous professional development and uphold HCPC registration.
* Participate in clinical audits as required by the Club and governing bodies.
About You
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and player-focused physiotherapist with a passion for working in elite sport. You will bring strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to supporting athletes.
Essential:
* BSc (Hons) Degree in Physiotherapy.
* HCPC registration.
* CSP membership.
* ITMMiF or ATMMiF qualification (with annual reaccreditation).
* Membership of BASRAT and/or Society of Sports Therapists.
* Proven experience treating sports injuries in a high-performance environment.
* Experience in rehabilitation and pre-habilitation programme design.
* Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
* Master's degree in Sports Medicine or related field.
* Experience working with female athletes.
* Previous experience in an elite football environment.
* Advanced CPD in sports medicine.
