Sample Preparation Technician
WHAT IS ON OFFER
Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Sample Preparation Technician to join our team in Liverpool, UK. You will be responsible to the Sample Preparation Departmental Manager and will carry out sample preparation procedures to a high degree of precision and accuracy on the various types of samples/ commodities submitted to the laboratory for chemical analysis. Your key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to good laboratory practices, maintaining and calibrating sample preparation equipment, and keeping work areas clean to prevent contamination. Additionally, you will assist in developing training programs, uphold professional standards, and ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
Shift Pattern: 11am – 7pm, Monday – Friday

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Required Competencies
1. Strong team player with a collaborative approach and work ethic who can demonstrate a diplomatic and measured approach through leading by example and encouraging others
2. Ability to demonstrate literacy and to be numerate
3. Highly motivated with the ability to work under own initiative in a dynamic work environment with changing daily priorities
4. Ability to develop the skills and knowledge within the laboratory to create an environment where knowledge sharing is a priority
5. Ability to work in an organised and structured way, whilst maintaining flexibility to the changing and demanding needs of the business
6. High attention to detail
7. Able to focus on meeting given deadlines
8. Able to communicate effectively in a range of different formats
9. IT Literate: Competence with standard Microsoft software packages
Required Work Experience
10. Laboratory experience is desirable but not essential
Required Qualifications
11. GCSE’s in English and Maths or equivalent
