Pay & Hours
Rate of pay: £13.00 per hour.
Hours: 6 hours per week with the option of further bank hours when available.
Overview
We are looking to employ a personal assistant to work on Wednesday morning and tea time to support a lady with sight loss, with her daily living activities.
Responsibilities
* Take her guide dog to local parks for exercise.
* Accompany her to days out including shopping, going to the Theatre and other social events.
* Support her to prepare vegan food and light shopping and housework when required.
* Help manage her routine, including ensuring her clothes and appearance are appropriate.
* Assist her to access the community and navigate local road systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
Ideally, applicants will have knowledge/experience of sight loss and be confident with dogs, understanding their needs e.g. walking in all weathers, toileting and communicating with the dog. Training and guidance can be provided to the right candidate. A positive, friendly outlook and openness to flexible working would be ideal. A driver with a full clean licence and access to a car is desirable.
