Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Professional clinical registration with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists
Desirable criteria
* Teaching and managerial courses
Experience
Essential criteria
* At least 3 years post qualification experience
* Experience in the use of Heart Lung Machines, Intra Aortic Balloon Pumps and Cell Salvage Machines
* Experience in Perfusion for adult Cardiac surgery procedures
Desirable criteria
* Expertise with Ventricular Assist Devices
* Expertise with Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation systems
* Experience in policy and practice change to deliver the Perfusion service
* Experience in online data acquisition
* Expertise in transplant perfusion techniques and organ preservation
Skills
Essential criteria
* Advanced communication skills to convey complex, sensitive, and sometimes contentious information in challenging environments
* Ability to work in a team and support colleagues
Desirable criteria
* Courses, certificates, experience in advanced computer literacy
* Training and mentoring trainee perfusionists
Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Extensive professional knowledge in perfusion with specialist training and CPD
* Advanced theoretical and highly developed specialist expertise underpinned by academic theory and CPD
* Sole expert in the field of service responsibility
Desirable criteria
* Knowledge of VAD, ECMO, and Organ Preservation techniques gained through working within a Perfusion service
