We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Science Teacher to join us on a fixed term contract, helping shape exciting learning experiences and meaningful progress for every pupil.About the RoleThis is a fantastic opportunity to deliver an engaging, hands-on Science curriculum within a nurturing and therapeutic environment. As part of our passionate, multi-disciplinary team, you will:Inspire learners aged 1116 with creative and accessible Science lessonsSupport students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to overcome barriers, rediscover their love of learning, and build confidenceContribute to a vibrant and supportive school community where every staff member plays a vital roleHelp shape an evolving specialist SEN provision with big ambitions and a strong sense of purposeKey ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver a broad, differentiated and inspiring Science curriculum tailored to diverse SEMH needsCreate a positive, engaging classroom atmosphere that fosters curiosity and confidenceUse multi-sensory, inclusive teaching approaches to support a range of learning stylesContribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental planningTrack progress, set aspirational targets, and provide meaningful feedbackWork closely with therapists, support staff and senior leaders to provide holistic supportEmbed SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural) development across science learningMaintain high expectations and promote positive behaviour using SEMH-informed strategiesWhat Were Looking ForQualified Teacher Status (QTS)Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4A passion for supporting young people with SEMH needsExperience in specialist settings (SEMH/Alternative Provision) desirable but not essentialStrong classroom management and the ability to inspire and engage pupils with complex needsA resilient, flexible, and compassionate approach to teachingFull UK Driving LicenceThis is more than just a teaching role its a chance to leave a lasting impact.
