HSE Manager Hereford Full-time, Permanent About the Role We’re seeking an experienced HSE Manager to take a leading role in driving health, safety, and environmental excellence across a high-hazard manufacturing environment. Reporting to the UK EHS Manager, you’ll be responsible for shaping strategy, ensuring compliance, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to join a global engineering and manufacturing business that produces critical materials for industries including aerospace, energy, and defence. Key Responsibilities * Advise and collaborate with senior managers to drive continual improvement in OHSE performance. * Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal manufacturing standards. * Develop, implement, and maintain SHE policies, procedures, and best practice. * Lead compliance audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations. * Monitor OHSE KPIs, prepare monthly reports, and present findings to senior leadership. * Represent the organisation in communications with regulators and during audits. * Champion cultural change by engaging employees at all levels in safety processes. * Deliver training and coaching to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards. * Stay up to date with emerging best practices in OHSE and integrate them into business strategy. What We’re Looking For * Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or a related field. * NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent post-graduate H&S qualification). * Chartered Membership of IOSH. * Minimum 5 years’ experience in an HSE management role within a high-hazard environment. * Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. * Experience in developing, implementing, and auditing EH&S management systems. * Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills. * Ability to manage cultural change and process safety initiatives. Key Competencies * Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance. * Excellent time management and prioritisation skills. * High level of self-motivation with the ability to work independently. * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels. * Competent with MS Office and modern reporting systems.
