Job Title: Paint Shop Supervisor
EDGE INNOVATE is currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The Paint Shop Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Paint Shop facility to maintain a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Delivery: Daily supervision of the paint shop team, providing guidance on operations such as blasting, prepping, painting, and repairs. Coaching team members to develop skills, estimating painting times, staffing, and costs to maximize efficiency. Developing and improving manufacturing methods while adhering to health, safety, and quality standards. Planning workspace utilization and conducting quality checks before and after jobs. Minimizing re-work and meeting production targets. Regular progress reporting to the Production Manager. Liaising with management on production schedules and capabilities. Monitoring performance to establish standard production rates and improve efficiencies. Streamlining purchasing and reducing costs.
2. Performance Improvement: Applying the company's performance management system, setting KPIs, and supporting staff development. Recognizing good performance and addressing issues effectively.
3. Financial and Resource Management: Ensuring the Paint Shop operates efficiently within financial targets, seeking innovative solutions for service improvements.
4. People Management: Providing leadership, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement, and managing staff performance and development.
5. General Management: Promoting equality, diversity, and health & safety compliance. Participating in staff recruitment, disciplinary actions, and upholding company values and policies.
Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications & Experience: Degree-level qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience in a similar industry; hands-on painting experience with heavy machinery.
Desirable: Experience managing a Paint Shop and advising stakeholders; management/leadership qualifications.
Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities; organizational and planning skills; proficiency in MS Office; ability to work flexible hours.
