The role offers a broad remit and exposure to public sector finance in the largest and most high-profile College within the Further Education sector. Working directly for the Finance Manager (Financial Accounting) and closely with the whole of the finance team, this is a pivotal role in managing the accounting and financial activities of the College.
Key deliverables include assisting in the preparation of annual accounts, month-end processing, maintaining policies and procedures, submission of VAT Returns (including minimising irrecoverable VAT costs) and overview of payroll processing. In addition to a strong technical finance background, this role requires general management skills as it includes line management responsibility of the accounts receivable team.
The role will provide both adhoc and regular financial information/reporting (underpinned by effective financial management and robust internal controls) to aid senior level decision making within the College’s financial operations.
The position will suit a newly qualified CCAB with a degree level education in an appropriate discipline.
