Offer description

The Bone Cancer Research Trust is excited to offer this opportunity to join our team as a Support Officer. You will help deliver and develop our support servicefor patients, families, and friends affected by primary bone cancer. Acting as a first point of contact for those in need, you will provide empathetic and professional support andguidance while ensuring the serviceruns smoothly.

We’re looking for an organised and proactive individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Working closely with the Support Service Development Manager, you will organise and facilitate virtual and in-person support groups, process patient support grants, and distribute our health information resources in a timely and accurate manner.

While experience in a charity support setting is desirable, we welcome applicants with transferable skills who can support vulnerable people – ensuringthat no one faces primary bone cancer alone.

A little bit about us:
Our mission is to save lives and improve outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer through research, information, awareness and support.

Our charity started in 2004, when a group of families who had lost children and young people to primary bone cancer (PBC) came together. They wanted to tackle head-on the fact that there was virtually no accessible bone cancer information, and practically no funding for research into this disease. In 2006, they registered the Bone Cancer Research Trust. Since then, we have become the leading charity dedicated to fighting primary bone cancer.

It is a truly exciting time to be joining our award-winning team, as we have recently launched our 10 year strategic plan and you will play a pivotal role in its delivery. Directly informed by our supporters and stakeholders, our future ambitions will continue to drive improvements in patient survival and ensure patients are supported to find their ‘new normal’ after treatment.

To apply please see attached job pack, application form and equality & diversity monitoring form. Please apply by 12pm Thursday 18th September.

The Bone Cancer Research Trust promotes an inclusive culture. We are committed to encouraging further growth from diverse groups, and we welcome applications from people from under-represented groups or communities. To apply, please see attached Support Officer job pack before completing the equality and diversity monitoring form and application form (keep in word format) and send to sarah.yates@bcrt.org.uk by 12pm on the 18th September. Interviews for shortlisted candidates will take place in the week commencing 29th September.
