Job Summary
Associate Director ICA Engineering responsible for leading and directing a team of Electrical & ICA engineers, delivering technical design work on complex multidisciplinary projects for the water market.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and direct a team of Electrical & ICA engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multidisciplinary projects following relevant client and project specific design codes and standards.
* Manage time and budgets of the Electrical & ICA team to key project milestones and programmes.
* Direct and review technical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC specifications, Control Philosophies, Control Network Architecture.
* Provide technical leadership into project design deliverables for ICA aspects of complex projects and collaborate with project management.
* Provide direction and guidance to Senior and Principal colleagues.
* Lead the growth of local Electrical & ICA team and the wider Electrical & ICA technical network.
* Exercise personal judgement to solve difficult problems and provide guidance to team members.
* Provide technical support and direction for bid proposals.
* Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
* Set quality assurance standards in design and ensure compliance from Electrical & ICA teams.
* Lead business development initiatives to drive growth of water market.
Requirements
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Chartered Engineer.
* Proven experience leading or directing an Electrical & ICA engineering design delivery team within a multi‑disciplinary environment.
* Broad perspective to identify innovative solutions to design problems.
* Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in ICA designs.
* Extensive knowledge of water company design codes and standards (e.g., WIMES) and industry best practices.
* Strong awareness of HAZOP assessments, lightning strike risk assessments, earthing and bonding, lighting designs, DSEAR and ATEX installation practices.
* Ability to work independently with minimal technical guidance.
* Experience in water market preferred but not required; experience in industrial and process environment essential.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively within diverse multi-disciplinary teams.
* Proactive, highly motivated mindset with a collaborative approach.

Location & Working Arrangements
Based in Epsom, Peterborough or Cambridge offices; hybrid working involves 3 days per week office/site based.
