Radiology CDC Waiting List Coordinator
Band 3 – Full time (37.5 hours) – Monday to Friday – Based at Weston General Hospital, Weston, Bristol. Salary £25,760 – £27,476 per annum (pro rata). Closing date: 15/06/2026 23:59.
Job Overview
The role supports the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) waiting list by acting as the primary contact for all queries, monitoring data, and ensuring efficient patient communication. The role works closely with the Radiology Administration team to manage active and backlog lists, process referrals, and maintain database records.
Responsibilities
* Act as the main point of contact for clinical and non‑clinical staff queries related to the CDC waiting list.
* Escalate patient, capacity or general issues to the line manager or relevant clinical team.
* Monitor, manage and validate active and backlog waiting‑list data for the CDC.
* Communicate with patients by telephone, letter, email or text reminder using Trust systems.
* Investigate no‑show (DNA) appointments, follow up day lists and handle rejected requests or missing images/reports.
* Take appropriate action to maintain maximum waiting‑time targets and provide patients with notice and information.
* Assist in training new team members and support personal development.
* Order and maintain essential stationery and items in line with Trust policies.
* Record, maintain and update admission information on the Radiology Information System (CRIS) ensuring CRIS and PACS records are complete.
* Monitor and track all CDC referrals and rejected requests.
* Check the incoming email inbox daily to stay up to date with departmental and Trust‑wide news.
* Understand, report and utilise RTT and performance targets.
* Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection policies at all times.
Qualifications and Experience
* GCSE, grade C or above (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths.
* Business and Administration Level 3 NVQ or equivalent experience.
* Previous NHS experience and experience using a Radiology Information System (CRIS) and Picture Archive Communications System (PACS).
* Clerical/administrative experience, including filing and/or reception.
Skills and Abilities
* Effective and polite manner when dealing with people, both face to face and on the phone.
* Work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
* Work effectively in a busy team, adjust to change and motivate others.
* Work on your own, using your initiative where required.
* Confidence to handle difficult conversations with patients, relatives and carers.
* Effective organisational skills.
* Good IT skills including Microsoft packages.
* Working knowledge of admission policies and procedures.
