This role supports the team overseeing the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors, ensuring we maximise returns on our budget and demonstrate value for money. You will also help set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long‑term collaborative partnership arrangements delivering value for both the Agency and society.
Responsibilities
* Provide commercial governance and assurance across contract portfolios.
* Assist the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management Team in delivering country‑wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams.
* Develop and manage pathfinder programmes, embedding best practice and fostering collaborative partnerships.
* Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to champion effective governance.
* Participate in incident response duties when required and undertake necessary training.
Key Requirements
* A‑Level qualifications or equivalent.
* Strong interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience in commercial risk management, with ability to analyse business situations, assess proportional risks and deliver value for money.
* Strong organisational, minute‑taking and reporting skills.
* Willingness to pursue long‑term professional qualifications such as NEC training or CIPS.
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
Desired Education & Professional Requirements
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
* Progress towards status with a recognised professional body (e.g. ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, RICS).
* Formal training in contract management (e.g. NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
