What you will enjoy doing
1. This is an exciting role which plays an instrumental part in the development and execution of our sourcing strategy to enable the delivery of our year-on-year productivity savings, as you lead the category management process to drive productivity and efficiency improvements
2. Working with the business and externally, you are ultimately responsible for delivering the ‘best in class’ supplier relationship management, which includes the evaluation and performance management of our suppliers to drive and focus a continuous improvement approach
3. You will keep abreast of the supplier market outlook, innovation, products, and pricing and uses their market knowledge and information to proactively influence sourcing decisions that optimise the company’s cost base.
4. Alongside this, you will have the opportunity to learn and leverage the global buying power that comes from being part of the Linde group, as they collaborate and work closely with the regional and global teams sharing learnings and best practices of working
What makes you great
5. Educated to degree level preferred or A level with significant relevant working experience in a similar industry or Procurement environment
6. Has a CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualification/s or is working towards this is an advantage
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to develop positive working relationships both internally and externally across all levels
8. Previous working experience in category management
9. High level of self-motivation and tenacity to drive and deliver results
10. Good level of commercial and business acumen; an understanding of the nature of our products and services
11. Proven ability to drive continuous improvements, savings, and best practices with ability to influence change successfully cross-functionally
12. Comfortable working in a complex and changing organization working in scenarios of ambiguity
13. A basic knowledge of what makes a good contract, ideally with experience in contract drafting
14. Works with integrity, role modelling the behaviours aligned to being an inclusive workplace
15. Previous Engineering working experience would be beneficial for some of the Senior Buyer roles who would support this area of the business
