They are now seeking a Trainee Accountant to join our growing team. What you’ll be doing As a Trainee Accountant, you’ll gain hands-on experience across all areas of practice, working with a variety of clients and supported by experienced accountants. Typical responsibilities include: * Assisting with bookkeeping and preparation of financial records * Processing invoices, expenses, and bank transactions * Preparing trial balances and supporting the production of financial statements * Assisting with VAT returns, payroll, and tax computations * Supporting audit assignments and maintaining client working papers * Learning to use cloud accounting systems such as Xero * Liaising with clients and contributing to smooth delivery of services * Participating in structured training and mentoring to build your technical skills What they are looking for They are looking for someone who’s eager to learn, detail-oriented, and ready to build a professional career. Essential skills and qualities: * A-levels, BTEC or equivalent (ideally in Accounting, Business, or Mathematics) * Good GCSE results in English and Maths * Strong numerical and organisational skills * Excellent communication and IT literacy * A proactive and positive approach to learning * High integrity and attention to detail Desirable (but not essential): * Some previous bookkeeping or accounts experience * Familiarity with Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks * Ambition to study towards AAT, ACCA, or ACA qualification Training and support You’ll follow a structured training plan that provides exposure to multiple disciplines, including accounts preparation, audit, tax, and business advisory work.
