Purpose of the role: The main purpose of the role is to coordinate daily staff cover and absence administration, liaising with the Headteacher and senior staff, while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the college through administrative support, event and staffing logistics, and the monitoring of policies, contracts, and third-party checks to maintain full compliance. To discuss the role in more detail, please contact Emma Gough – egough@bodmin.celtrust.org Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Cover Administration: To liaise with the Headteacher between 7am and 8am every morning, reporting staff absence accordingly To liaise with supply and other agencies accordingly To work with systems and SIMs in order to arrange cover so that all lessons have teachers To liaise with Senior Leadership throughout the day concerning any unplanned absence. Administration duties and logistics: To work with the office staffing team, ensuring appropriate delegation and prioritisation of work and high standards of work are maintained To participate in the recruitment, appointment and induction of new clerical staff in accordance with the needs of the school To undertake the Performance Management of the Admin Staff, including holding appraisal meetings, setting objectives, raising issues of underperformance and setting targets for improvement. To oversee the necessary administration associated with the School’s intake of new pupils, which includes supporting the Pastoral Manager with arrangements for Welcome Days and processing resulting consent forms for trips, photographs and biometric thumb prints To maintain pupil records appropriately ensuring confidentiality with such records. To check all parental communication for accuracy, e.g. letters, texts and emails, and approve their suitability before being issued To plan, communicate and coordinate large events across the school General responsibilities applicable to all staff: To demonstrate and promote the values of Cornwall Education Learning Trust at all times. To work with professionalism in line with the Trust’s Code of Conduct. To take responsibility for their own CPD To attend staff meetings and Trust-based INSET as required.
