We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and efficient Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join our busy GP Surgery team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
This is a full‑time position of 37.5 hours per week, with the following working pattern:
* Monday:08:00am - 18:30pm
* Tuesday:12:30pm - 18:30pm
* Thursday:13:15pm - 18:30pm
* Friday:13:15pm - 18:30pm

Main duties of the job
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Receptionist to join our busy GP Surgery team. The main duties include:
* Welcoming and assisting patients both in person and over the telephone
* Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments using clinical systems
* Managing patient enquiries with professionalism, empathy, and strict confidentiality
* Processing repeat prescriptions, test results, and medical documentation
* Providing administrative support to clinicians and the wider practice team
* Supporting the practice in meeting QOF and BQC KPI requirements
* Referring patients to the appropriate services or specialties as needed

Job responsibilities
* Greeting patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
* Answering telephone calls and managing appointment bookings
* Processing prescriptions, referrals, clinical letters, and samples
* Ensuring the reception area is tidy, organised, and welcoming
* Working as part of a team to support the smooth running of the practice
* Ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality care to all patients
* Managing the amalgamation and processing of new patient records
* Following all practice policies and procedures
* Completing administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, and data entry
* Liaising with clinicians, patients, and external healthcare professionals
* Ensuring administrative work contributes to meeting QOF, BQC, and IIF KPIs

Qualifications
* GCSE Grades A - C in English and Maths
* Microsoft literate
