Overview
The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is recruiting a registrar with a special interest in acute cardiovascular medicine. The post will be based at Glenfield Hospital, where approximately 60-80 cardio‑respiratory patients are admitted each day. The successful candidate will contribute to the outpatient service for general cardiology, support consultant‑led ward rounds and Cath‑lab sessions, and provide acute emergency medical care for cardiovascular patients.
Key responsibilities
* Look after patients with a variety of general and specialist cardiology conditions.
* Provide acute emergency medical care for cardiovascular patients.
* Contribute to the provision of the outpatient service for general cardiology.
* Support consultant‑led ward rounds and Cath‑lab sessions.
* Participate in the out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.
* Assist in the development of clinical skills and experience within a teaching trust.
Key qualifications
* Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
* Special interest or training in acute cardiovascular medicine.
Contract & Salary
The post is available for an initial period of 12 months, with the possibility of contract extension. The basic salary is £65,048, in addition to allowances for out‑of‑hours on‑call duties. All Trust doctors are entitled to study leave and allocated funding for training and study.
