Role: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Shipley, West Yorkshire + Hybrid Work from Home
 Salary: Up to £55,000 + Benefits
Our client, a leading technology company in Shipley, is seeking a talented mechanical desing engineer to join their growing multi-disciplinary team. You'll play a key role in developing mechanical designs for complex electronic products, working closely with experts in electronics, embedded software, and manufacturing.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for the full mechanical design lifecycle - from initial concept and 3D modelling to detailed design, documentation, and handover to production.
You'll design robust, high-quality electronics housings, enclosures, and mechanical assemblies, ensuring they meet mechanical, environmental, and manufacturing requirements.
You'll collaborate with electronics, firmware, and production engineers to deliver innovative, reliable solutions for demanding applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks CAD software.
Develop mechanical housings and enclosures for electronic systems.
Carry out mechanical stress-strain and thermal simulations using finite element modelling software
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic designs.
Support prototype builds, testing, and design verification.
Produce high-quality documentation to support design reviews and production release.Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in an electronics product environment.
Strong proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD (or similar).
Hands-on build of prototype units to verify and refine designs
Experience designing enclosures or housings for electronic assemblies.
A degree in Mechanical EngineeringSecurity Requirements
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be UK citizens and either:
Already hold SC (Security Check) clearance, or
