We at Carraero Engineering are seeking a skilled 5 Axis CNC Mill Programmer to join our dynamic and passionate team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of 5-axis CNC milling processes and be proficient in programming, setting and operating complex parts on CNC mills. Successful candidates will work closely with our engineering & design team to manufacture components for both in-house automotive projects and ever-changing clientele contracts. Candidates will be programming with industry-leading OpenMind HyperMill, utilising full simulation collision checking for lights‑out operation; prior experience of this isn't required, and comprehensive training will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Develop and optimise offline 3D CNC programs using HyperMILL, complete with a simulation package for lights‑out and pallet pool operation
* Interpret engineering drawings and CAD files to produce components accurately
* Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot any issues that arise during machining processes
* Optimise the machining process to find efficiency gains where possible
* Perform quality checks on finished products using appropriate measuring tools
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment and keep tooling, job documents, and records up to date
Desired Skills
* Proficiency in programming and operating CNC machines
* M & G code knowledge
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
* Proficiency in utilising probing and tool setting
* Experience with CAD/CAM software
* Familiarity with continuous 5‑axis machining and programming of complex parts
* Ability to utilise custom tooling, ball nose strategies, barrel milling
* Experience in materials & tooling handling
* Excellent problem‑solving skills with key attention to detail
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
