The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced E&I Service Engineers / Service Providers to support Kapwell on a framework basis (2–3 years), delivering workshop and site-based electrical and instrumentation services across the UK and EU.
This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging process systems within oil & gas, hydrogen, and industrial applications, supporting projects from assembly through to commissioning and ongoing service.
Scope of Work
1. Workshop Assembly & Integration (Gourdon, UK)
o Electrical panel integration and skid mounting
o Cable installation, glanding, and termination
o Installation of field instruments (pressure, level, flow, temperature)
o Instrument hook‑up (tubing, manifolds, impulse lines)
o Wiring segregation (power, signal, intrinsically safe)
o QA/QC checks, cable schedule verification, and documentation
2. Inspection & Rectification
o Electrical inspections of pre‑assembled equipment
o Verification against wiring diagrams
o Fault finding, repairs, and re‑termination
o Insulation resistance and earth continuity testing
o ATEX and hazardous area compliance checks
3. Pre‑Commissioning & FAT Support
o Loop testing and I/O checks
o PLC panel power‑up assistance
o Signal simulation and alarm/trip verification
o Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) support
4. Site Installation (UK & EU Projects)
o On‑site installation and final terminations
o Instrument installation and hook‑up
o Interface wiring with third‑party systems
o Hazardous area installations (ATEX compliant)
o Coordination with mechanical and project teams
5. Commissioning & Start‑Up
o Hot commissioning and system energisation
o Instrument calibration and functional testing
o Valve and actuator testing
o Process start‑up support and troubleshooting
o Client handover, reporting, and operator training
6. Modifications & Upgrades
o Control panel modifications
o Instrument additions and upgrades
o PLC component upgrades
o System retrofits and wiring reconfiguration
7. Emergency & Breakdown Support
o Priority call‑out availability
o Rapid mobilisation (typically 48–72 hours within EU)
o Troubleshooting and repair
o Root cause analysis reporting
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications
* Time‑served E&I Engineer
* NVQ / City & Guilds or EU equivalent
* CompEx certification (for hazardous area work)
* Valid right to work within UK/EU
Experience
* Industrial skid‑mounted equipment
* Oil & gas / chemical processing systems
* PLC‑based systems
* Instrument calibration and loop testing
* FAT/SAT and commissioning experience
Certifications (Preferred)
* CSCS / ECITB
* ATEX awareness
* First Aid & Manual Handling
* Offshore certification
