Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEMH School Location: Specialist SEMH School Age Range: 8–16 years Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour (depending on experience) We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school. This is a rewarding role supporting pupils aged 8–16 who require consistent, nurturing, and firm behaviour support to access education and reach their potential. The Role Support pupils in the classroom and in small group or 1:1 settings Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons Provide strong, consistent behaviour management in line with school policies Support pupils with emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behaviour strategies Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families Contribute to a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment Requirements Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) Proven experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs Strong behaviour management skills and confidence handling challenging behaviour Calm, patient, and resilient approach Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children We Offer Competitive hourly rate (£13.75 – £14.50 p/h) Supportive leadership and experienced staff team Opportunity to make a genuine difference in young people’s lives Consistent daytime hours (8:30 – 3:30), Monday to Friday If you are passionate about supporting children with SEMH needs and have the skills and resilience to thrive in a specialist setting, we would love to hear from you.
