Role overview
WSP are seeking Chartered Civil Engineers with experience in Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management for River Scour and Lead Local Flood Authority programme delivery support and to expand the growth of our expertise and technical capability. Within our River and Coastal Engineering team we support clients and projects throughout the UK with a focus on Local Authorities, Network Rail, Highways, Environment Agency and major infrastructure projects including offshore wind, desalination plants and submarine cables, providing modelling, appraisal and feasibility studies, business cases and designs from concept through to detailed designs.
Responsibilities
* providing technical support and expertise for our rivers, scour and coastal civil engineering design teams
* supporting on the delivery of proposals
* mentoring and helping to develop our Apprentices, Graduates and Early Career Professionals
* contributing to our Innovation Accelerator program and Research and Development programmes
* supporting our delivery of local authority FCERM programmes
Qualifications & experience
* Experience post degree in designing sustainable water management engineering designs such as scour assessments and scour repair design, river or flood defence works, coastal engineering
* Degree qualified in civil engineering
* Knowledge and understanding of flood and river scour design principles and solutions
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Successful management of projects/programmes and teams to meet both quality and commercial targets
* Chartered Civil Engineer status
Location
Our preferred location for a candidate would be the South West of England, to work from our Exeter or Bristol offices, but other locations nationwide would be considered.
