Hays are supporting a professional services organisation in South Wales to recruit a permanent Infrastructure Engineer.
The role is hybrid working from either the Newport or Cardiff office and will pay c£50 - £55k competitive benefits.
The Infrastructure Engineer designs, implements, and maintains systems and processes that support continuous integration and reliable operation of third-party and internal IT infrastructure.
The role ensures performance, security, and availability while promoting collaboration, agility, and continuous improvement across IT and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Architect and manage Azure-based cloud environments, including network design, hybrid connectivity, and security best practices.
* Support migration of legacy systems to cloud platforms.
* Automate deployments, builds, and environment provisioning.
* Monitor system health, performance, and capacity; perform tuning and proactive issue resolution.
* Maintain documentation for deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
* Collaborate across teams for maintenance, patches, and continuous improvement.
* Participate in incident response and ensure rapid system recovery.
* Liaise with vendors for technology updates and support
Key Requirements
* Strong Azure cloud expertise with experience in API management, authentication, and cloud security.
* Skilled in designing and deploying virtualized infrastructure.
* Proficient in incident resolution and root cause analysis.
* Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Recovery.
* Degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience). Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience supporting SaaS applications and working within project teams.
* Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems.
